Validating your status early ensures that your unique Serial Number (located on the underside of the frame) and manufacture year are on file, which is required before any service claim can be processed.

  • You must secure a digital copy of your Original Sales Receipt from an authorized retailer. The hardware guarantee is valid only for the original owner and requires legitimate proof of purchase to successfully validate your status and lock in your "Warrantied for Life" commitment.

Step 2:

  • If your cycling hardware suffers a structural concern or a failure that hinders its main functionality such as a frame defect or an e-bike motor issue the primary route for resolution is through an Authorized Electra or Trek Retailer.

  • These partners act as the exclusive technical partners for evaluating potential manufacturing defects. You should take your clean product and proof of purchase to the retailer’s service department, where they will perform a diagnostic check to determine if the concern is a factory fault or a result of expected maintenance.

  • You should rule out external factors by ensuring your bike has been maintained according to official standards. Because the guarantee does not cover damage from accidents or improper assembly, the retailer must confirm the hardware is in its original configuration to maintain eligibility for a factory-backed repair.

Step 3:

  • To finalize your resolution or obtain a specialized hardware restoration, your local retailer will submit a formal claim to the warranty department for a Final Technical Determination.

  • Once a defect is confirmed, you will coordinate with the retailer regarding the resolution. At the manufacturer's discretion, the defective item will be repaired or replaced with a similar available model to ensure your lifestyle riding remains supported by functioning Electra gear.

  • For damage not covered by the standard policy, such as impact damage, ask your dealer about the Carbon Care Loyalty Program. This specialized support provides a discount on replacement frames or components in cases of non-warranty damage, keeping you on the road even when accidents happen.

Exclusions

  • Improper Maintenance: Coverage is void for failures resulting from a lack of routine service, corrosion, or the installation of incompatible third-party parts.
  • Labor Charges: The cost of labor for part replacement or component changeovers is the responsibility of the owner and is not covered by the manufacturer.
  • Commercial Activities: Bikes used for rental, demo, or security fleets (specifically 2012–2019 models) are excluded from standard coverage.
  • Modifications: Any unauthorized modification to the frame, fork, or components will void the coverage in its entirety.
  • Accidental Damage: Protection does not extend to damage caused by crashes, jumping, or using the bicycle outside of its intended lifestyle parameters.
