Step 1:

  • Before beginning, confirm that your eyewear's issue is a result of a manufacturing flaw in materials or workmanship. The warranty specifically covers issues like frame breakage at a joint or hinge, lens delamination, or assembly errors. It specifically excludes scratched lenses (considered normal wear and tear), damage caused by misuse, alterations, or accidents (such as dropping your glasses or sitting on them).

  • Ensure you have your original dated sales receipt or digital order confirmation ready. For a claim to be valid, the product must have been purchased from an authorized Spy Optic dealer or directly from the official website.

  • Note that if your product was purchased from an unauthorized reseller (like certain third-party discount sites), the manufacturer's warranty may be void. If you are unsure if your defect is covered, look for signs of "stress fractures" in the frame versus "impact marks," as the latter typically indicates non-warranty accidental damage.

Step 2:

  • To initiate the process, access the specialized "Warranty Claim" portal under the Support section on the official Spy Optic website. Avoid sending your product directly to the Carlsbad headquarters without an authorization, as it may be refused.

  • You must provide your contact details, the date of purchase, and the name of the retailer. You will also need to specify the frame name (e.g., "Helm" or "Monolith") and the specific lens type, such as Happy Boost™ or Trident™ Polarized, to ensure an accurate replacement.

  • High-quality photographs are required for assessment. You will typically need to upload three distinct images: one showing the overall product, one clearly showing the defect area, and one of the markings on the inside of the temples (arms) of the frame. This helps the technical team determine if the unit can be replaced without requiring you to mail the broken pair back.

Step 3:

  • If the digital claim is approved, the company will at its discretion repair the item or provide a comparable replacement. If your specific model or colorway has been discontinued, Spy Optic will typically offer a credit or a similar style of equal value.

  • While submitting your claim, you are highly encouraged to complete your Product Registration if you haven't already; this links your purchase history to your account, making any future claims for goggles or other gear significantly faster.

  • Once the team authorizes a solution, follow the provided instructions carefully. If the technical team requires the physical item for further testing, you will receive an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number; ensure this number is written clearly on the outside of your package to avoid processing delays at the warehouse.
