What is covered under the Smeg Warranty?

The warranty policy commences on the date of the original purchase. Under the policy, Smeg will, at its discretion, repair or replace any component of the product that malfunctions due to defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period. Smeg will further provide, also at its discretion and without charge, all necessary labor and in-home service to rectify or substitute the faulty part. It's important to note that the warranty is applicable exclusively to properties designated for residential use. Additionally, it holds validity solely in the United States of America and Canada, and its coverage is contingent on the appliance being used within the country where it was originally purchased. It's worth mentioning that certain states do not permit the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. The warranty offers you specific legal rights, and it's possible that you may possess additional rights that vary depending on the state in which you reside.

What is NOT covered under the Smeg Warranty?

The warranty has specific exclusions and limitations. It does not cover service trips to your residence for instructional purposes or visits during which no fault is identified. Additionally, damages incurred during transit, handling, or installation are not covered unless the product was correctly installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and local codes, in which case any performance issues related to improper installation are excluded from coverage. The warranty also excludes damages resulting from the failure to follow the manufacturer's recommended care, cleaning, and maintenance instructions. It does not extend to any repairs, modifications, alterations, or adjustments made by unauthorized individuals or service providers. Damage is not covered if the product is abused, misused, used for unintended purposes, or placed in commercial or industrial settings, where commercial and industrial use is defined as any profit-generating activity. Moreover, the warranty does not include damage due to incorrect electric current, voltage, circuit breaker rating, extension cord usage, transformers, or power supplies, nor does it cover damage to electronic parts resulting from power surges or issues related to the improper setting of appliance controls. It excludes the replacement of residential circuit breakers, resetting of circuit breakers, replacement of light bulbs or LED lights, and damage caused by wear and tear unless it's the result of material or workmanship defects and reported to an authorized service partner within 30 days of purchase. The warranty does not cover substances accumulating on or in any part or component of the product that affects its performance. Damages to surrounding areas, such as ceilings, floors, walls, or cabinets, are also not covered, especially for products installed in cabinets or built-in furniture that are not easily serviceable. The warranty does not extend to damage caused by accidents, fires, floods, or acts of God. It does not cover expenses related to travel and transportation beyond 30 miles from an authorized SMEG servicer. Lastly, products with removed, damaged, or defaced original serial numbers are not eligible for warranty service. Additionally, the warranty does not apply to appliances installed on boats, ships, yachts, or any other marine vessels. It is not valid for appliances installed on passenger, cargo, commercial, or private aircraft. The warranty also excludes appliances installed on RVs, house trailers, mobile homes, or any other type of transportable residence.
