The Rinnai Standard Limited Warranty offers coverage for any defects in materials or workmanship, provided that the product is installed and operated in accordance with Rinnai's written installation instructions, as specified in the terms outlined in the limited warranty document. This warranty is applicable exclusively to products that have been correctly installed in the United States and Canada. For a proper installation, they highly recommend that a qualified professional who has completed Rinnai's installation training class handles the process. The Limited Warranty extends to the original purchaser and any subsequent owners, but only while the product remains at the original installation site. If the product is moved or reinstalled at a new location, the warranty terminates. Rinnai is committed to repairing or replacing the covered product, along with any defective parts or components, in accordance with the details outlined in the provided table. Additionally, reasonable labor charges associated with the repair or replacement of such parts or components are covered during the labor warranty period. It's important to note that all repair parts must be genuine Rinnai components, and any repairs or replacements must be carried out by a qualified professional with the appropriate training for the specific repair. The authorization for product replacement can only be granted by Rinnai at its discretion. Rinnai does not empower any individual or company to assume any responsibility or liability in connection with the replacement of the product. In cases where repair of a product is deemed impossible, Rinnai may choose to replace it with a comparable product at its sole discretion.
The Limited Warranty explicitly excludes coverage for failures or operational challenges arising from the following circumstances: accidents, abuse, or misuse; modifications to the product or any of its component parts; misapplication of the product; improper installations, including but not limited to installations in corrosive environments, damage from condensation, improper venting, use of incorrect gas types, inaccurate gas or water pressure settings, absence of a drain pan under the appliance, and inadequate maintenance (such as the accumulation of scale, freeze damage, or blockages in the vent). Additionally, the warranty does not apply to issues resulting from incorrect sizing, causes unrelated to defects in materials or workmanship, problems or damage due to fires, flooding, electrical surges, freezing, or acts of God, damage resulting from poor water quality, operation of the water heater with water other than potable, or extraordinary events beyond control (force majeure). Furthermore, it's important to note that there is no warranty coverage for products installed in closed-loop applications, which are typically associated with space heating-only applications. The Limited Warranty is not applicable to any product with a defaced serial number or manufacture date. Additionally, the warranty does not provide coverage for products used in applications involving chemically treated water, like pool or spa heaters.
