About Niwaki

In 1996, Jake traveled to Japan with aspirations of becoming a sculptor, aiming to explore the cultural significance of the cherry blossom season, known as hanami. While there, he encountered captivating gardens and trees, sparking a determination to delve deeper into their intricacies. Upon returning to England, he pursued training as a TEFL teacher, where he met Keiko, whom he later convinced to accompany him back to Japan. Their first year together was dedicated to teaching, followed by a second year working at a traditional plant nursery in rural Osaka, where Jake absorbed knowledge on tree training, pruning, and rootballing. Today, Niwaki boasts an extensive array of collections, with their Original Tripod ladders acclaimed for features like the innovative spring-loaded leg pin and platform top step, making them the preferred choice among professional gardeners.
