3 Simple Steps for Navien Warranty Claim:

Step 1:

  • Your products getting registered is the easiest way to claim your warranty. You can register your newly purchased Navien unit or warranty replacement unit before providing your details. Contractors seeking rewards can explore their rewards website.

  • For the first option, product information is necessary. You'll need to supply the serial number, installation date, and other pertinent details to make a warranty claim.

  • The serial number of the product comprises 15-16 digits and can be found either on the right side of the box or on the back of the front cover.

Step 2:

  • Navien products are accompanied by a limited warranty covering labor, parts, and the heat exchanger. For further details, please select a product from the menu on the official website.

  • This Limited Warranty grants you specific legal rights, and you may have additional rights that vary depending on your state of residence.

  • Additionally, individual accessories may come with their own warranty terms and possible exclusions. To find out more, please consult the warranty documentation included with the particular accessory.

  • To request warranty repair service, the end user or homeowner should contact the initial installer of their Navien product. If it's not possible to identify the original installer, the end user or homeowner can reach out to Navien's Technical Administration Department. Proof of purchase is required.

Step 3:

  • If you have any doubts about their products and warranty policy Contact their support team and they will be pleased to help you. You have to fill up the form given by them.

  • In place of making a phone call, you also have the option to engage in a live chat with them.

What is covered under the Navien Warranty?

Navien products come with a limited warranty covering labor, parts, and the heat exchanger, with warranty periods starting from the original installation date. It's crucial to provide Navien with the original installation date and, if requested, furnish proof of this date. If a component (either part(s) or the heat exchanger) fails under normal use and service during the specified warranty period, Navien will replace the defective component at its discretion. The replacement component must be an original factory component from Navien. Additionally, Navien may opt to replace the product with a new or refurbished one of similar quality and design, depending on its sole discretion. The warranty coverage for the replacement component or product will be applicable for the remaining duration of the original component's warranty period. Prior written approval from Navien is required for labor expenses associated with warranty service, and payment will be in accordance with Navien's approved labor allowances schedule.

  • 1-year warranty for labor

  • 3-year and 5-year warranty for parts

  • 5, 8, 10, 15-year warranty for heat exchangers

What is NOT covered under the Navien Warranty?

Navien's Limited Warranty becomes invalid under specific circumstances. These include purchasing the product through internet channels, e-commerce platforms, or from installers who obtained the product from unapproved suppliers or distributors not authorized by Navien. It also encompasses improper installation, such as failure to strictly adhere to the Installation Manual procedures, installation by an unlicensed installer, or any installation that violates applicable regulations, laws, or building codes. Neglecting regular maintenance, misuse, operation at settings contrary to recommendations, failure to comply with instructions in the User's Operation Manual, or making any modifications or alterations to the product, such as component removal, the addition of non-approved components, relocation from the original installation site, or any accidental or intentional damage, all result in warranty avoidance. Using the product for non-recommended purposes, damage caused by local adverse conditions, gas flow problems, electrical surges, flooding, fire, extreme external temperatures, or any other causes of damage unrelated to manufacturing defects are also excluded. The installer's failure to fully comply with the Warranty Service and Return Policy procedures provided by Navien, including the requirement to contact Navien Tech Support while in front of the product for troubleshooting, results in warranty voidance. Using the NPE Series Water Heater for space heating purposes only will also void the warranty. Performance issues stemming from improper sizing, gas supply, venting, combustion air, electrical specifications, wiring, fusing, or any other components or specifications are not covered. Attempting to convert the water heater from natural gas to LP gas, LP gas to natural gas, or operating it with an unspecified gas type also voids the warranty. Damage, malfunctions, or failures due to abuse, negligence, alterations, accidents, fires, floods, freezing, wind, lightning, or other natural disasters are not covered. Operating, using, or storing the water heater in corrosive or contaminated environments, running it at temperatures beyond factory limits, exceeding the high limit control's maximum setting, operating without a continuous supply of potable water, or subjecting the heat exchanger to pressures or firing rates outside the rating plate specifications all lead to warranty voidance. Additionally, installing the water heater outside the United States and Canada or removing or altering the rating plate will void the warranty as well.
