Step 1:

  • You can access Canon warranty service in three ways- by contacting the place of purchase, the Canon information center, or the online customer support team.

  • Defective products will be accepted for service under the warranty period only when you provide the bill of sale or other proof of purchase. Repairs for non-warranty Canon products will be conducted after providing a cost estimation, which you can either accept or reject.

Step 2:

  • You have a total of 28 days to return the products, which can be divided into two halves, the first half to receive the RMA number and the second half to ship the products back to the Canon online store, which also issues an RMA number.

  • When packing the return, use the original package along with all items delivered with the product, and include a copy of the invoice or packing slip.

  • Please ensure the RMA number is clearly marked on the outside of the return package. When preparing your shipment, be sure to follow the guidelines outlined in the Canon Return Policy to avoid delays in processing your return. For added security, we recommend using FedEx, UPS, or another delivery service that provides tracking information and insurance to help ensure the safe and documented return of your product.

Step 3:

  • Canon will not refund the shipping and handling charges for the return of non-defective products. CD-ROMs and instruction manuals that are not defective cannot be returned or exchanged.

  • Creation of an account is ahead of the registration. To create an account, you need to provide a name, email, and password. Having an account enables you to easily register products, access support, and shop.

What is covered under the Canon Warranty?

Canon U.S.A., Inc. provides a limited warranty for the new or refurbished Canon-branded product included with this warranty, valid for purchases and use within the United States exclusively. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal usage and service conditions. It applies only when the product is utilized alongside compatible computers, peripheral equipment, and software.

What is NOT covered under the Canon Warranty?

The limited warranty does not extend to instances of loss or damage to the Product resulting from abuse, neglect, mishandling, improper packaging by the customer, alteration, accidents, electrical current fluctuations, improper usage, failure to adhere to operating or maintenance instructions outlined in Canon USA's user manual or accompanying documentation, or services conducted by individuals outside of Canon USA's repair facility or authorized service providers (ASF).

Canon Warranty FAQs:

Can I make a warranty claim without a receipt?

If a customer asks for a repair, replacement, or refund, the business may request a receipt or another type of proof of purchase, such as a credit or debit card statement or a lay-by agreement.

Can digital cameras be repaired?

Yes, digital cameras can be repaired at specialized camera repair shops, but whether it’s practical or cost-effective depends on the camera’s value, the type of damage, and the availability of parts. Professional repair services can handle issues such as body damage, water damage, sensor problems, lens errors, and shutter faults, often focusing on specific brands or models. For older or lower-cost point-and-shoot cameras, repairs may not be worthwhile, as parts can be hard to find or the repair cost may exceed the camera’s replacement value.
