What is covered under the Bradford White Warranty?

The warranty provides coverage for both the glass-lined tank and its component parts, safeguarding against leaks or other malfunctions stemming from material and workmanship defects. The warranty coverage applies not only to the initial purchaser but also to any subsequent owner(s) as long as the water heater remains installed in its original location within the United States. Using the residential product for purposes other than its intended application will reduce the warranty period.

  • 6-year limited parts warranty for indirect-fired water heaters

  • 1 to 10-year limited tank warranty for residential water heaters

What is NOT covered under the Bradford White Warranty?

The limited warranty excludes coverage for various factors, including leakage or malfunctions resulting from excessive use, specifically nonresidential use. It also does not cover defective installations, which include any installations in violation of state or local plumbing, housing, or building codes, those lacking a certified temperature and pressure relief valve, or those carried out against the provided unit instructions. Adverse local conditions, like sediment or lime buildup in the tank or exposure to corrosive elements in the atmosphere, are not covered. Misuse, which encompasses improper operation and maintenance contrary to the unit's provided instructions, removal of the magnesium anode, modification or addition of non-approved components, use of fuels or settings not in line with the rating plate, or any accidental or external damage, is not covered either. Furthermore, the warranty does not extend to issues related to noise, taste, odors, discoloration, or rusty water produced by the unit. It does not cover incidental property damage, loss of use, inconvenience, or any other incidental or consequential costs. Any expenses linked to the replacement and/or repair of the unit, including freight, shipping, delivery charges, as well as removal, installation, or re-installation costs, are not included in the warranty coverage. The warranty does not include the cost of materials or any necessary permits for installation, re-installation, or repair, and it does not cover the charges associated with returning the defective product or component part to the manufacturer.
