What is covered under the Away Travel Warranty?

This limited warranty applies to polycarbonate, aluminum, and nylon luggage manufactured by JRSK, Inc. ("Away") and purchased directly from Away or Away's authorized retailers (referred to as "Luggage"). Additionally, some aspects of this limited warranty pertain to batteries that are sold either with Luggage or separately ("Batteries"). The Luggage is specifically designed for use during various modes of travel, including air, car, train, boat, and on foot. This warranty covers the original purchaser of any Luggage or, in the case of a gift, the initial recipient of the Luggage. It's important to note that all Away warranties, including implied warranties, remain valid only for the duration of time that the Luggage is owned by the original purchaser or recipient. To determine the applicability of the warranty, a copy of the purchase receipt is required. Please be aware that Away's limited warranties are not transferable. This limited warranty encompasses the following issues: cracks or breaks in the shell, wheels, handles, or telescoping handles that break off and are no longer usable, zippers that can no longer be opened or closed, and fabric tears that render the front pocket fabric non-functional.

What is NOT covered under the Away Travel Warranty?

This limited lifetime warranty explicitly excludes coverage for what is referred to as "Cosmetic Damage." Cosmetic Damage encompasses various aesthetic issues such as scratches, dents, dings, scuffs, stains, color changes, normal wear and tear, technological obsolescence, or other non-functional changes in the appearance of the product.
Additionally, this warranty does not cover the replacement of non-defective pieces within the luggage. For instance, if you purchase Luggage with multiple components and only one component is defective, they will only replace the defective component. Furthermore, this warranty does not extend to luggage such as suitcases sold by resellers who are not authorized retailers. It also excludes luggage sold under various conditions, such as "as-is," "preconditioned," "reconditioned," "used," "comfort return," "returned," "previously owned," or any other phrasing indicating that the Luggage is not new or of first quality, or has previously been purchased or used by another consumer. The warranty also does not cover the loss of battery functionality, which is solely addressed by the Electronics Two Year Limited Warranty. It does not account for loss of functionality caused by consumers being locked out of their Luggage, for which assistance is available as detailed in the "Your Responsibilities" section. The use of luggage for commercial or rental purposes will not be covered.
