What is covered under the AprilAire Warranty?

The warranty terms vary based on the products produced. Most products come with a five-year warranty starting from the installation date. Under this warranty, Research Products Corporation's sole responsibility is to provide a free replacement for any defective component within the warranty period, provided it is returned to either your original supplier or Research Products Corporation.
If your purifier shuts off and won't turn back on, fails to spin, or if your thermostat shows a temperature or internal memory error, displays "cool on" but no air is blowing, or isn't cooling properly, Aprilaire will repair or replace the unit under warranty. Similarly, if your air cleaner isn’t powering up, your humidifier isn’t getting water, the drum won't turn, or your humidifier is overflowing, not draining, or malfunctioning, or if your dehumidifier isn't collecting water or turning on, Aprilaire will handle the necessary repairs or replacement. Even if the fan has stopped working, Aprilaire ensures your unit is fully restored or replaced.

What is NOT covered under the AprilAire Warranty?

This warranty does not obligate Research Products Corporation to cover any labor costs, and it does not extend to defects in workmanship or materials provided by your installer, as opposed to defects in the air cleaner itself. Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the aforementioned five-year period. Research Products Corporation will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages, except for damages related to personal injuries, resulting from a breach of the implied warranties or the above-mentioned limited warranty. This limited warranty becomes void if any defects arise due to the unit not being installed by a qualified heating and air conditioning contractor. In the event of the limited warranty becoming void due to the absence of a qualified contractor, all disclaimers of implied warranties shall be effective upon installation.
