What is covered under the American Water Heaters Warranty?

American Water Heaters offers a warranty for the product, covering any defects in materials or workmanship, as detailed in the document, provided the product is installed within the United States. The manufacturer or its authorized Service Representative will, at its discretion, either repair or replace any faulty or defective mechanical or electrical parts, including their components. In cases where replacement is not feasible, and repair is not commercially viable, the manufacturer or its authorized Service Representative will reimburse the manufacturer's allowable amount. The manufacturer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to utilize new, refurbished, or reconditioned parts for the replacement. It is crucial to have proof of purchase or proof of installation in order to validate the warranty. The warranty for either the product or its individual parts will be applicable for the remaining duration of the original warranty. They will replace or repair the water heater if it shows any of the following defects: water leakage, the water heater is not heating the water, the water has a bad smell, lime or salt buildup, or the water is too cold despite the heater being on.

What is NOT covered under the American Water Heaters Warranty?

The warranty will become null and void under various circumstances, including problems caused by improper factors such as gas supply line sizing, gas type, venting, connections, combustion air, voltage, wiring, or fusing. It will also be void if there is a failure to adhere to applicable codes or follow printed instructions, as well as in cases of abuse, misuse, accidents, fires, floods, or Acts of God. Improper installation, sizing, delivery, or maintenance, along with claims related to rust, noise, smell, or taste of water, will also render the warranty void. Additionally, the warranty won't be applicable if there is a failure to conduct authorized factory start-up if required if alterations are made to the products, if non-outdoor heaters are installed outdoors, or if damages occur due to a failure to account for thermal expansion. The warranty will not cover heat exchanger failure resulting from a lack of adequate or proper water supply. If products are moved from their original location or service trips are required to explain proper installation, use, or maintenance of the product/unit or to describe compliance requirements under applicable codes and regulations, these will not be covered by the warranty. Charges related to accessing your heater, including door/wall removal and equipment rental, are also excluded from the warranty coverage. Furthermore, replacement parts needed after the expiration of this warranty period are not covered. The water heater is converted or is attempted to be converted, from one voltage or wattage to another, if an electric water heater, or from one type of gas to another, if a gas water heater.
