Step 1:

  • The products manufactured by Takagi have to be registered first to commence the warranty claim process. The registration form includes fields for the model and serial number, type, installation date, product location, and the name of the person who installed the product.

  • The registration process serves multiple purposes, including verifying ownership, ensuring efficient service, and providing access to technical support and product information.

Step 2:

  • There are numerous answers to the questions on the FAQs page. Customers who have any doubts regarding the products should review the page before contacting customer service.

  • Takagi offers two distinct warranty policies tailored for residential and commercial appliances. Each of these policies is specifically designed to meet the unique needs and expectations of these different customer segments.

Step 3:

  • An experienced, talented, and skilled customer team, who have resolved the issues of the customers, is ready to address any grievances you may have.

  • Two business days are sufficient for them to get back to you, and a form is available to be filled out.

  • During the warranty process, Takagi may offer one of the following solutions: a warranty replacement or warranty service. The warranty period varies based on whether the product is for commercial or residential use and the type of product.

What is covered under the Takagi Warranty?

The Takagi provides a warranty for this product against defects in materials or workmanship, as detailed in this document when installed within the United States. The manufacturer or its authorized Service Representative will, at their discretion, either repair or replace any failed or defective mechanical or electrical parts, or components thereof. In cases where the manufacturer or its authorized Service Representative cannot replace the parts, and repair is not commercially feasible, they will provide a refund for the manufacturer's allowable amount. It's important to note that this amount does not cover installation, shipping, expenses related to compliance with government efficiency or other requirements, or any additional fees. The manufacturer may, as they see fit, utilize new, refurbished, or reconditioned parts. It is important to have your proof of purchase and installation date while claiming the warranty.

What is NOT covered under the Takagi Warranty?

Takagi assumes no responsibility for products not installed by a licensed plumber, gas installer, or contractor. Additionally, damages resulting from accidents, abuse, misuse, improper installation, misapplication, incorrect sizing, fires, flooding, freezing, electrical surges, or any Acts of God are not covered under the warranty. Unauthorized alterations, attachments, and repairs, as well as damages due to a lack of maintenance (such as a water filter, water treatment system, or vent blockage), are also excluded. Products installed in unsuitable environments, such as those that are corrosive, dusty, chemically contaminated, or excessively lint-prone, are not covered. Freeze damage that occurs without taking the proper preventive measures as described in the installation manual, as well as condensate damage due to improper installation or the absence of a condensate trap (drain), falls outside the warranty's scope. Furthermore, any product not installed in compliance with all applicable local codes, ordinances, and good trade practices, or any product sold to or installed in areas outside of the fifty states and the District of Columbia of the United States, is not covered. Similarly, products installed in applications that cause the water heater to activate more than 300 times per day (averaging an activation every 5 minutes in a 24-hour period) are not eligible for warranty claims. Lastly, any failures that are not attributed to defects in materials or workmanship, whether mechanical or electrical, and damages arising from improper installation and water quality, are not covered by the warranty.
