Perform a thorough inspection to determine if the issue is a material defect rather than normal wear and tear, such as paint chips from road contact or the natural fading of fabrics under UV exposure.
Ensure the helmet has been stored in a climate-controlled environment, as the manufacturer does not cover damage resulting from improper storage conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, rain, or high humidity.
Identify any secondary components that may be failing, such as shields or comfort liners, as these accessories are assessed under their own specific material standards.
Initiate the claim process by contacting the specific retailer where you purchased the helmet; for users in the U.S., you may also submit a request through the official website to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
Prepare the helmet for inspection by removing all non-original accessories, as the service center is not responsible for any lost or damaged third-party items included with the return.
Coordinate with the technical team for the resolution; at the discretion of the brand, the original item will be repaired or replaced with the same or a comparable model to restore your head protection to factory standards.
Scorpion EXO helmets are warranted against material and manufacturing defects for 5 years from original purchase date or 7 years from manufacturing date, and helmet accessories, including all shields and comfort liners (such as cheek pads and crown liners), are warranted against material and manufacturing defects for 1 year from the original purchase date whichever comes first.
