Visit the official Ricoh Imaging website to register your new equipment. While registration may not always be required for service, it helps streamline support processes and ensures you receive important firmware updates and product notifications.
Locate your product’s serial number and retain a copy of your dated proof of purchase (such as a bill of sale). This documentation is required by Ricoh to verify that the product was purchased through an authorized distribution channel.
Additionally, confirm the origin of your product. The U.S. manufacturer’s warranty is applicable only to items distributed by Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation and purchased within the United States.
Check the "Support & Downloads" section for your specific model to ensure your firmware is up to date, as many electronic "crashes" or error codes can be resolved with a software reset or a 5-minute battery pull.
Create a detailed description of the malfunction and, if possible, capture sample images that highlight the technical issue to include with your digital submission.
Back up your settings and internal media; during the inspection and repair process, devices are frequently reset to factory specifications, and internal data may be erased.
Initiate a repair request through the Authorized Service Portal (Precision Camera is the primary authorized partner for Ricoh/Pentax in the U.S.) to generate a service order number.
Pack your product carefully using ample padding to prevent transit damage; note that while the repair itself is covered for valid claims, all shipping, insurance, and transportation costs to the service center are the owner's responsibility.
Include a printed copy of your Service Order/RMA and your sales receipt inside the box; once the service center inspects the unit and confirms the defect, they will proceed with the necessary repairs or replacements at no charge.
