What is covered under the PlayStation Warranty?

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (“SIE”) always warrants PlayStation products as it is a part of SIE. On that note, SIE warrants the product including components contained in the retail box to be free from all forms of material and workmanship defects in the time period. This is only to the original purchaser in the country of purchase and the warranty immediately commences after the purchase. Any defective product will be repaired or replaced with a factory-recertified product at SIE’s sole discretion without any charges from your end. You are free to exercise common consumer rights and other special laws which will change from one state to the other.

  • 1-year limited warranty for most of the products

What is NOT covered under the PlayStation Warranty?

The warranty does not cover any damage caused by acts of god, misuse, no proper care & maintenance, negligence, accident, unreasonable use, or by causes unrelated to defective materials or workmanship; damage caused by use of this product with products that are not compatible with this product; if this product is used for any commercial purpose, including rental or arcade purposes; damage caused by use of this product with any peripheral(s) that SIE does not license or sell, including non-licensed game enhancement devices, controllers, adaptors and power supply devices; if this product is modified to alter capability or functionality without SIE’s written permission; if this product has had the serial number altered, defaced or removed and service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of SIE or an SIE-authorized service provider. Please note that this warranty does not cover products sold and is clearly marked “as is” or with faults. Additionally, any type of loss including money or data due to incidental, consequential or special damages always goes void in the claim.
