What is covered under the MRCOOL Warranty?

MRCOOL offers a warranty for this product, covering failures resulting from material or craftsmanship defects when the product is used and maintained as intended. The warranty period initiates upon the original installation date. In cases where the installation date is uncertain, the warranty period begins 120 days from the product's manufacturing date. If the product malfunctions within the warranty period, a new or remanufactured part will be provided at no charge. To receive credit for defective parts, they should be returned to the distributor through an authorized service dealer. It's important to note that the express warranties provided should not be modified, expanded, or altered by any distributor, dealer, or other individuals.

  • Advantage warranty policy has a 2-year warranty for all parts, a 1-year warranty on the compressor warranty, and a 1-year warranty on the remote control unit

  • Limited Lifetime Warranty has a 7-year unit replacement [compressor] warranty and a 5-year parts warranty

  • GeoCool Limited Labor Warranty has a 10-year warranty on parts and a 5-year warranty on labor

What is NOT covered under the MRCOOL Warranty?

The warranty does not enclose expenses related to labor or other costs associated with diagnosing, repairing, removing, installing, shipping, servicing, or handling defective parts, replacement parts, or new units. It also excludes regular maintenance tasks as specified in the installation and servicing instructions or the Owner's Manual, such as filter cleaning or replacement and lubrication. Furthermore, the warranty does not apply to failures, damage, or repairs resulting from improper installation, misapplication, abuse, unauthorized alterations, or improper operation. It does not cover failures to start due to voltage issues, blown fuses, open circuit breakers, or damage caused by inadequate or interrupted electrical service. Incidents like floods, wind, fires, lightning, accidents, corrosive environments (such as rust), or other uncontrollable conditions are also not covered. Parts not provided or designated by the company, as well as damages resulting from their use, are excluded from the warranty. Additionally, products installed outside of the USA and Canada, as well as electricity or fuel costs (including increases in these costs for any reason, such as unusual use of supplemental electric heat), are not covered. The warranty also does not cover expenses for replacing, refilling, or disposing of refrigerant. Finally, it does not include compensation for special, indirect, or consequential property or commercial damages of any kind. This exclusion also applies specifically to Advantage Series Units.
