Step 1:

  • Before initiating a claim, confirm that your tire's issue stems from a manufacturing flaw in materials or workmanship, or falls under the specific Mileage Warranty. The warranty excludes damage caused by road hazards (unless covered by a specific Road Hazard program), improper inflation, lack of rotation, mechanical misalignment of the vehicle, or racing/competition use.

  • Ensure you have your original dated sales receipt and your vehicle’s maintenance records ready. Most mileage warranties require proof that tires were rotated every 5,000 to 7,500 miles to remain valid. Coverage applies only to the original purchaser and the original vehicle on which the tires were installed.

Step 2:

  • Unlike small appliances, tire warranty claims must be inspected in person. To initiate the process, use the "Dealer Locator" on the official Kumho Tire USA website to find a professional service center near you.

  • You must present the tire to the dealer for a physical inspection. The dealer will measure the remaining tread depth using a gauge. A tire is generally considered "worn out" and eligible for a pro-rated claim when it reaches 2/32" of remaining tread depth.

  • The dealer will evaluate if the issue is a "Manufacturer’s Defect" (such as belt separation) or "Premature Wear" (running out of tread before the promised mileage). They will then submit a digital claim ticket to Kumho’s technical team on your behalf.

Step 3:

  • If the claim is approved, Kumho will provide a credit toward the purchase of a comparable new Kumho tire. If a manufacturing defect is found within the first 2/32" of wear (or the first 12 months), the tire is often replaced free of charge (excluding mounting and balancing).

  • For mileage warranty claims, the credit is calculated "pro-rata." For example, if a 60,000-mile tire wears out at 30,000 miles, you may receive a 50% credit toward your next set.

  • While not mandatory for a claim, you are highly encouraged to complete your Product Registration on the Kumho website immediately after purchase. This ensures you are notified in the event of a safety recall and helps streamline the verification of your purchase history.

Kumho Tire Warranty Period:

  • Limited Warranty: Generally up to 6 years from the date of manufacture.
