To be eligible for a claim, you must be the original purchaser of new Hankook tires that bear the Department of Transportation (DOT) identification numbers and were installed on the original vehicle.
The warranty applies to products used under normal consumer conditions within the United States; using passenger tires for commercial service or off-road racing will typically void the eligibility for a claim.
You must ensure your tires are within the active coverage window—generally 6 years from the purchase date, and you must have maintained your original sales receipt as proof for Hankook customer support.
To initiate the process, you should first visit an authorized Hankook dealer, as all physical inspections and initial claim filings are handled through their professional service network.
You must present the affected tire along with your original purchase invoice and, if claiming for treadwear, provide documented records proving that tires were rotated every 7,500 miles.
The dealer will then fill out the official Hankook claim form, which must be signed by both the dealer representative and the owner before being submitted to Hankook's technical department for review.
If Hankook customer support verifies the defect within the "Free Replacement" period (typically the first 2/32nds of tread), the tire will be replaced with a comparable new model at no cost.
For tires that have exceeded the free replacement threshold but are still within the warranty period, a pro-rated credit will be calculated based on the remaining usable tread depth.
Once the claim is approved, the credit is applied toward the purchase of your new replacement tire, though the customer is usually responsible for taxes and mounting/balancing service fees.
Limited Warranty (Workmanship): 6 Years from purchase or 6 years from manufacture date.
Road Hazard Warranty: 1 Year from purchase or the first 2/32nds of treadwear.
