The iRobot limited warranty protects the original purchaser for genuine iRobot hardware against defects in materials and workmanship, provided the unit was purchased from an authorized retailer in the United States.
Before proceeding, you must ensure that your product’s serial number is intact and that you have a valid proof of purchase; failure to verify these details with customer support may lead to a denial of your claim.
You should also confirm that the issue is a genuine manufacturing defect rather than damage from non-authorized accessories, improper maintenance, or fluid exposure, as these situations often void the manufacturer's protection.
To initiate a claim, users should first navigate to the Contact Us portal on iRobot’s official website to use self-service troubleshooting tools that may resolve common software or sensor issues.
If hardware service is required, you must contact iRobot customer support via the official web chat or messaging system to open a ticket, where a specialist will perform a remote "Problem Determination" session.
During the process, the representative will request your robot’s serial number and a copy of your receipt to validate the warranty status and provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
Once customer support approves the claim, they will provide a prepaid shipping label or instructions for returning the defective unit to an authorized iRobot service center for physical inspection.
Skilled technicians will evaluate the device and, at iRobot’s discretion, either repair it with new or refurbished parts or replace it with a unit of comparable performance and functionality.
The repaired or replaced hardware is then shipped back to you and continues to be covered for either the remainder of the original warranty period or for ninety days, whichever is longer.
