Step 1:

  • Before deploying your device into the field, verify your coverage level. Getac offers Bumper-to-Bumper protection as standard on many of its fully rugged products. This allows the technical team to confirm that the device is protected not only against manufacturing defects but also against accidental damage that may occur in demanding work environments.

  • It is recommended to register your device on the official Getac website or through the Getac Service System (GSS) portal after purchase. Product registration helps keep your device details on record and can simplify warranty verification and service management.

  • Have your model name and 10-digit serial number ready. The serial number is usually located on the bottom of the unit or inside the battery compartment. Keep a digital copy of your dated proof of purchase to confirm your warranty period. For enterprise deployments, the Getac Service System (GSS) portal can also be used to manage multiple devices and track the lifecycle of your equipment fleet.

Step 2:

  • If your device has suffered a cracked screen from a drop, internal component failure due to extreme vibration, or liquid ingress, it is time to perform a technical assessment. The Bumper to Bumper warranty is specifically designed to address both manufacturing defects and Accidental Damage, including exposure to environmental conditions that exceed typical office usage.

  • It is important to determine if the failure is covered under your specific plan. Fully rugged systems (like the X600 or K120) typically include accidental damage as standard, while semi rugged models (like the S410) may require an additional rugged warranty or upgrade to include accidental acts. Keep in mind that intentional abuse or damage caused by unauthorized modifications remains excluded from core factory protection.

Step 3:

  • To resolve a hardware failure, you must coordinate with the specialized technical support team via the Getac Service System (GSS). Because Getac operates on a global scale, they utilize a Pack & Collect logistics service in many regions (like the EEA and UK) to facilitate an efficient technical review and rapid repair.

  • You must log in to the GSS to create a Service Request. Once authorized, you will pack the equipment (using original packaging is recommended for sustainability) and ship it to the designated Getac service hub. If the unit cannot be repaired, Getac will replace it with a unit of equal or greater specification. They aim to minimize downtime, often returning restored units within a few business days to keep your workforce operational.
