PlayStore & App Store
Before beginning, confirm that your controller's issue is a result of a manufacturing flaw in materials or workmanship. The warranty specifically covers defects in the joysticks, buttons, triggers, and internal circuitry under normal domestic use. It specifically excludes damage caused by accidents (such as drops or liquid spills), unauthorized modifications, normal wear and tear, or using the product with incompatible devices.
Ensure you have your original dated sales receipt or digital order confirmation ready. For a claim to be valid, the product must have been purchased from an authorized Backbone retailer or directly from the official website. Coverage is typically provided to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Note that software-related issues can often be resolved through the Backbone app's firmware updates. Ensure your device is updated to the latest version and that you have calibrated your joysticks within the app settings before proceeding with a hardware claim.
To initiate the process, access the specialized Support portal on the official website. You can also start the process directly through the Backbone app by navigating to the settings menu and selecting.
You must provide your Order Number or proof of purchase along with a detailed description of the fault, such as "stick drift," "unresponsive trigger," or "connectivity failure." Providing the serial number (found on the device itself or the original packaging) is essential for a fast resolution.
High-quality photographs or videos of the defect are required for assessment. For hardware issues like stick drift, a short video clip demonstrating the erratic movement within a game or the Backbone calibration menu helps the technical team verify the claim and determine if a replacement unit is necessary.
If the digital claim is approved, the company will at its discretion repair the unit or provide a comparable replacement for defects appearing within the established protection window. In many cases, for verified hardware failures, Backbone will provide a prepaid shipping label to return the faulty controller.
While submitting your claim, you are highly encouraged to ensure your Backbone app account is active; this links your purchase history to your profile, making any future technical support much faster and ensuring you have access to the latest feature updates.
Once the team authorizes a solution, follow the provided instructions carefully. If a return is required, ensure the device is securely packaged to prevent further damage during transit. Upon receipt and inspection of the defective unit, a replacement is typically processed and shipped within a standard business window.
