Step 1:

  • Identify Your Point of Purchase: MikroTik operates on a Distributor-Led Warranty model. Your warranty is held and serviced by the specific authorized distributor or reseller where you purchased the device; MikroTik SIA does not accept RMAs directly from end-users.

  • Locate the Serial Number: Find the S/N on the product label or via the RouterOS interface (System -> RouterBOARD). This unique identifier is mandatory for your distributor to verify the hardware version and production date.

  • Confirm Purchase Authenticity: Ensure you have a clear copy of your Original Sales Receipt. The warranty is valid only for the initial purchaser and is tied to the date of sale recorded by your authorized vendor.

Step 2:

  • Attempt a Netinstall: Before assuming hardware failure, use the Netinstall tool. This is MikroTik's official utility for reinstalling RouterOS; many "bricked" devices or boot loops are software-related and must be ruled out before an RMA is approved.

  • Review the "Pik" Label: Check the small sticker on the device for any signs of tampering or unauthorized entry. Breaking the factory seal or opening the casing of indoor units typically voids the hardware protection.

  • Document the Fault: Note the LED patterns and console output (if the device has a serial port). Providing "Supout.rif" files or specific error logs to your distributor will significantly speed up the diagnostic phase.

Step 3:

  • Reach out to the team through Contact Us on website or directly by emailing the Support Desk of your original Distributor. If you are unsure who your distributor is, check the "Buy" section on the official MikroTik website to find authorized partners in your region.

  • Request an RMA Number: Once the distributor's technical team confirms a potential hardware defect, they will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and specific shipping instructions.

  • Follow the Return Protocol: Ship the defective unit, often including the original power supply, to the distributor's service center. They will evaluate the unit and either repair it, replace it, or issue a credit based on their specific terms and MikroTik's global policy.

What is NOT covered under the MikroTik Warranty?

These are NOT covered in MikroTik's warranty policy

  • Overclocking & Software Misuse: Damage caused by running the CPU beyond factory specs or improper configuration that leads to hardware stress.
  • Environmental & Electrical Surge: Malfunctions caused by lightning strikes, static discharge (ESD), or power surges, especially on outdoor units without proper grounding.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: The warranty is void if the device has been physically modified, had third-party antennas soldered, or had its factory firmware replaced with non-MikroTik software.
