Locate the unique Serial Number engraved on the underside of the bottom bracket shell; this identifier is required for all service actions and registration.Visit the Bike Registration portal on the official GT website to link the bike to your profile; this documents your ownership and is a primary requirement for processing future claims.
Secure a digital copy of your original sales receipt from an authorized GT retailer, as the manufacturer's guarantee is strictly valid for the original retail purchaser and requires a legitimate proof of purchase.
Confirm that the frame and fork have not been modified, repainted, or stripped, as unauthorized structural or cosmetic alterations will render the hardware guarantee null and void.
Take your clean product and original proof of purchase to an Authorized GT Retailer; these local experts serve as the exclusive point of contact for evaluating potential defects.
Describe the specific issue to the shop's service department; they will perform a physical diagnostic to determine if the concern is a manufacturing defect or an expected maintenance requirement.
Rule out external causes by ensuring the bike has been maintained according to official standards, as the guarantee does not cover damage from crashes, jumps beyond the bike's intended class, or improper assembly.
If a defect is confirmed by the retailer, they will submit a formal claim to the GT warranty department for a final technical determination.
Coordinate with the retailer regarding the resolution; at the manufacturer's discretion, the defective item will be repaired or replaced with a similar available model.
For damage not covered by the standard policy, ask your dealer about potential Crash Replacement options or loyalty discounts for replacement frames.
GT bicycles are covered against manufacturing defects under a limited warranty. Registered frames (standard models) have a lifetime warranty for the original owner, while gravity/freeride and dirt jump frames have 3‑year coverage. Swing arms and full suspension linkage parts are covered for 5 years, and GT‑branded components and paint/decals are covered for 1 year.
